本書從社會(huì)學(xué)與哲學(xué)的角度，對(duì)全球化大背景下人們的價(jià)值觀念，社會(huì)行為的變化，人性，人情，人與己，人與人，人與自然，小我與大我等各方面以詩歌形式記錄作者的觀察與思考。
全書由一百余首詩歌組成。分為四部分：PartOne原始靈魂；PartTwo親情?愛心?愛情；PartThree人在他鄉(xiāng)；PartFourSharingtheBeauty。前三部分為中文，第四部分為英文。
作者簡介：
楊人辛，社會(huì)學(xué)博士，美國北密執(zhí)安大學(xué)社會(huì)學(xué)系終身教授。主要課程有社會(huì)學(xué)概論，社會(huì)學(xué)研究方法，種族與性別，生命周期與社會(huì)結(jié)構(gòu)，全球化與中國，等等。學(xué)術(shù)論文多篇發(fā)表在SociologicalSpectrum,Race&Society,JournalofEthnicandCulturalDiversityinSocialWork,InternationalJournalofSociologyoftheFamily,InternationalJournalofModernSociology,andGenderandSociety等期刊上。
教學(xué)與科研之外，習(xí)慣去大湖邊的林中散步，思考“社會(huì)學(xué)的詩”。2011年出版中英詩集《域外浮生飄絮》（約130余首），獲北美華人教授協(xié)會(huì)ACPSS2011PublicationAward。
